Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations from Boris Johnson to Rishi Sunak

‎”I think the government was right to say that people having a bit of ID, the same as you’d have […] to go to a Post Office and collect a parcel or take a book out from the library is not unreasonable, to just give that extra bit of protection…”

Brandon Lewis MP, Former Cabinet Minister, Radio Norfolk

Facts

In an interview with Lewis put out on Twitter, he compared the new policy of needing identification to vote in the United Kingdom with the ID needed to collect a parcel or take a book out of the library. According to due diligence organisation Full Fact“This is misleading…requirements for the type of ID you need to vote are different to that when picking up a parcel, as voter ID requires a photograph.”

Verdict

Brandon Lewis was misleading Norfolk voters and his twitter followers.
