Whilst discussing the cost of living crisis on LBC, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that “if we bring inflation down, people will have more money to spend”.
Falling inflation does not mean that prices are falling. It means that prices are still going up, but just not as quickly as before.
Verdict
Rishi Sunak was misleading LBC listeners.
We emailed Rishi Sunak’s office and Downing Street offering them the chance to respond. The email was received, but no reply.
