Facts
On 12 July, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posted on X that “Labour didn’t want me to attend NATO this week”. He was referring to an exchange he had with Labour’s Chris Bryrant at a House of Commons Liaison Committee hearing on 4 July.
At the Committee hearing, Chris Bryant questioned the Prime Minister about his poor attendance record at Prime Minister’s Questions. There was no suggestion by the Labour MP that the Prime Minister should miss the NATO summit instead of attending PMQs.
