Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations from Boris Johnson to Keir Starmer

“No, of course” the Conservative Party doesn’t have Islamophobic Tendencies

PM Rishi Sunak, BBC Radio York

When talking on BBC Radio York, Rishi Sunak was asked “has the conservative party got islamophobic tendencies”. The Prime Minister responded “No, of course it doesn’t”.

A poll of Conservative Party members by Opinium published on 28 Feb, 2024 found 58% believed Islam posed a threat to the country and 52% believed parts of European cities were under Sharia Law and a no-go area for Muslims.

A poll in 2020 showed 47% of Conservative members thought Islam posed a threat to the British way of life.

A clearly untrue statement from Rishi Sunak and the Party’s Islamophobia appears to be getting worse.

We emailed Rishi Sunak’s office and Downing Street offering them the chance to respond. The email was received, but no reply.
