Deputy prime minister told Sky News that Rishi Sunak’s failure to wear a seatbelt was “an inadvertent mistake”. Anyone viewing the film can see that the Prime Minister had deliberately taken off his seat belt so that he could speak to the camera. Either that – or he systematically disregarded the law and never wore a seatbelt.
Verdict
Rishi Sunak’s failure to wear a seatbelt was a small thing. But Raab’s claim that this was “inadvertent” was obviously untrue. Why endless evasions, falsehoods and misrepresentations?
