Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations from Boris Johnson to Rishi Sunak

‎”With me, what you see is what you get.”

Liz Truss, Conservative Leadership Candidate, Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg

In July 2022 POLITICO revealed that while Truss had publicly described her trade deal with New Zealand as a “huge boost” for the UK which would allow “British exports to be even more competitive”, International Trade Department officials had warned her that the deal would boost New Zealand at the expense of the UK’s farmers. Truss continued to publicly extol the deal, even as her officials gave her contrary advice.

On 21st July 2022, Truss told the BBC that “I wanted Boris to carry on a Prime Minister”, but her ally Vicky Ford MP told BBC Politics Live that “I know that at the time when Rishi and others were saying it’s time for him to step down Liz was also of the same view”.

Another vainglorious boast from Liz Truss that does not withstand inspection.

We emailed Liz Truss’ office offering her the chance to respond. The email was received, but no reply.
